I wouldn't be here if they hadn't gotten together, so let that testify how unpointless high school dating can be. Adults look back on these years and recall the best time of their lives. Researchers also speculate that the subsequent in-class weirdness following a breakup lends itself to poor academics. Dating a classmate may have the same emotional complications of dating a co-worker. When the couple splits, they have to continue to see each other in class and perhaps witness the ex-partner dating someone else. It is reasonable to think this scenario could be linked to depression and divert attention from studying.
